You know when they talk about the power of music to touch the emotions and all that stuff? I really think a song only touches you if you can relate to the message therein.

I came across this song during one of the hardest times of my life. I truly felt in a kind of “winter” period and the lyrics did not fly over my head but went right into my heart and gave me hope.

You know how that kind comment comes in timely on a bad day? How a line in a sentence brightens a gloomy day? How, regardless of who said it, a word in season mends something broken in you? Yes. That, is it. That was what this song did to me at that point in time. Though I didn’t hear about the song until very long after it was initially released, I was happy to come across it when I did. I had put it on replay then [bingeing on songs new to me is my thing, hahaha] and I wasn’t satisfied so I made it my ringtone too, and it has been there ever since. It’s been several months now and is due to change soon, no worries. I am just lazy, dazall. Lol.

Proverbs 25:11 “A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver”

Proverbs 12:25 “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad”

Proverbs 15:23 “…a word spoken in due season, how good is it!”

So, I can rightly say, this song “Seasons” came right in season!

It reminded me of patience. Of process. Of time. Of God’s love.

It reminded me of many things tunefully embedded in the words of the song.

It reminded me of seed and growth.

It reminded me of harvest!

And lastly, this song reminded me of the loyal promises of God!

God’s plan for us are absolutely GOOD!!!

But remember seasons…

Enjoy the lyrics:

Like the frost on a rose
Winter comes for us all
Oh how nature acquaints us
With the nature of patience
Like a seed in the snow
I’ve been buried to grow
For Your promise is loyal
From seed to sequoia

I know
Though the winter is long even richer
The harvest it brings
Though my waiting prolongs even greater
Your promise for me like a seed
I believe that my season will come

Lord I think of Your love
Like the low winter sun
And as I gaze I am blinded
In the light of Your brightness
And like a fire to the snow
I’m renewed in Your warmth
Melt the ice of this wild soul
Till the barren is beautiful

And I know
Though the winter is long even richer
The harvest it brings
Though my waiting prolongs even greater
Your promise for me like a seed
I believe that my season will come

I can see the promise
I can see the future
You’re the God of seasons
And I’m just in the winter
If all I know of harvest
Is that it’s worth my patience
Then if You’re not done working
God I’m not done waiting
You can see my promise
Even in the winter
Cause You’re the God of greatness
Even in a manger
For all I know of seasons
Is that You take Your time
You could have saved us in a second
Instead You sent a child

Though the winter is long even richer
The harvest it brings
Though my waiting prolongs even greater
Your promise for me like a seed
I believe that my season will come

And when I finally see my tree
Still I believe there’s a season to come

Like a seed You were sown
For the sake of us all
From Bethlehem’s soil
Grew Calvary’s sequoia
